FA Cup Betting

No Premier League action this weekend so the Fantasy Football preview will be on Monday. In the mean time lets pick out a few bets from the weekend’s FA Cup fixtures.

Worth winning

Worth winning

Man Utd vs Spurs over 2.5 goals @ 1.74.

I’m a bit undecided on this game as for some reason I think Spurs may do a classic ‘Harry Redknapp wins 1-0 in FA Cup tie at Old Trafford’ (33/1). More likely however are a few goals as Spurs can’t defend against Championship teams let alone Premier League ones whilst Man Utd only have Vidic available of their first choice defenders. Darren Fletcher is likely to play at right back for example. The odds aren’t the best (+3.5 is 2.72 if you’re feeling confident) but I think it’s a good shout to come in.

Ramsey to score vs Cardiff @ 7.5.

Arsenal are 1.71 to beat Cardiff which is bit higher than I thought it would be but not high enough to tempt. A bet on Aaron Ramsey to score against his old club is a decent shout however. In his sporadic appearances this season he has got forward a lot and indeed grabbed himself a goal in Europe. I think it’s worth a quid or two.

Liverpool and Everton to draw @ 3.5.

Last week’s league game saw a draw and rumour has it Rafa plans to play a slightly weaker team. Both team are pretty solid and could well cancel each other out again. Fellaini will still be missing but I think Everton have enough to take it back to Goodison.

Wolves to beat Middlesbrough at 2.52.

This is great value I think. Wolves are leading the Championship and will be full of confidence. It will be a great test of how much they need to do if they get promoted at the end of the season. Boro meanwhile are on a terrible run of form in the league and have slipped into the relegation places. If there’s going to be a shock (relatively speaking) anywhere this weekend, I think it will be at Molineux.

Kettering to beat Fulham @ 10.

That said I think this is worth a pound. Fulham don’t do away wins and have just sold their best player. Could happen…
